Fleetwood Mac’s haunting lyrics first reached into my soul four decades ago when I was married to an alcoholic filled with joie de vivre & anger.

In 1978, marriage provided FINANCIAL security (men made 35% more than women doing the same job) + PERSONAL security + STATUS (an unmarried woman was labeled an “old maid”).

I FOUND this Globe & Mail article (published Feb 02/13 = Ground Hog Day and the birthday of my missing first husband) stashed in one of the many places I put things so I don’t lose them. Hah
